D&D has handled my car maintenance needs for years, most recently was replacing pads and rotors for front breaks. They always greet me with a knowing smile when I'm there. They always complete the work on time and at a far more reasonable price than a dealership.

Excelllent service, fair prices, very friendly and personable employees. Reminded me of the small town one and two hoist “gas stations” I used to go to when I was a whole lot younger. I’ll be going back.

I'm not sure what all the other reviewers are referring to when they say fair prices...? One of my brake calipers was sticking so I dropped it off there after hours. I provided the parts, brake pads and rotors for all 4 wheels. I've had issues with this car's brakes in the past and wanted them installed correctly and figured I'd start fresh with all new. I opted to not take it to Koons Ford (the vehicle is a Ford) or Virginia Tire & Auto out of fear the prices would be crazy. I called D&D in the morning to explain what I wanted done. They called me back a few hours later and confirmed yes we think it needs a new caliper, I asked the total for the brake install labor (which was half done at this point) along with the caliper part & install - $980.00. I thought it seemed very excessive for a brake job. I asked the price of the caliper - $260.00. I asked if I could provide the part. They said they usually don't do that and it automatically would void the warranty of the work (even if provided new) but she eventually agreed. I found the part at Advanced Auto for $58. (This only makes me wonder how much they are marking up the rest of their services) At end of the day after running around to gather and provide parts it cost me $614.77 in labor ONLY. I called Koons Ford and asked them what it would cost to do a user parts provided brake and rotor install along with the driver side rear caliper. Total - $374.00 for a difference of $240.00! Virginia Tire and Auto was slightly more than Koons, but both were far cheaper than D&D. Nothing against the mechanics but I doubt the young fellas working at D&D are certified Ford (or anything for that matter) techs. Just not sure the premium I'm paying here. I learned the hard way. Summary: Call around before taking your vehicle anywhere and ask for estimates. If anyone is worth their weight they will break off a price fairly quickly without hesitation. -D&D Price: 614.77 -Certified Ford Service Center: 374.00 -Virginia Tire and Auto: ~ 430.00 (He wouldn't give me a firm price on the caliper but said about that)
